The Evidence-Based Treatment Dissemination Center Staff

EBTDC staff share your goal of providing the best evidence-based care to children and their families in the state of New York.   Our dedicated and dynamic staff look forward to providing training in evidence-based practices to all New York State behavioral health providers.

Alissa Gleacher, Ph.D., EBTDC Clinical Director & Lead Trainer.  Alissa Gleacher, PhD is a research assistant professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the New York University Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She received her B.A. in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Gleacher went on to study clinical psychology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she received her M.A. and Ph.D under the mentorship of Bruce F. Chorpita, PhD.

​Dr. Gleacher completed a pre-doctoral internship at Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center in the Child Program. 
​Dr. Gleacher’s clinical training focused on working with children and adolescents across the diagnostic spectrum (including anxiety and mood disorders, pervasive disorders of development, and behavioral problems). Dr. Gleacher worked at the Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Anxiety and Stress Program before joining our staff. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior therapy, and functional behavioral assessment. Dr. Gleacher has received specialized training in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, school-based mental health interventions, and a multitude of assessment measures.

Aleta Angelosante, Ph.D., ​EBTDC Trainer.  Aleta Angelosante, PhD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the NYU Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Angelosante treats children and families with depressive disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), cognitive therapy, panic disorder, anxiety disorder, cognitive and behavioral therapy, phobia, anxiety disorder of childhood, dialectical behavior therapy, group counseling, mood disorder, and Tourette syndrome.  She has published numerous articles on anxiety in young children, and currently is a Trainer at the Evidenced-Based Treatment Dissemination Center, training mental health practitioners in New York State.

Nicole Wang, M.A., EBTDC Director of Training and Research.  Nikki is a Senior Research Coordinator at the IDEAS Center. She holds a Master's Degree in Applied Child Development from Tufts University and has experience in academic, mental health, school, and healthcare settings, both conducting research and providing direct services to children and families.  

Nikki works on a variety of research and evaluation projects at the IDEAS Center, and assists with grant preparation and submission.  She currently works as the Project Manager for the Evidence Based Treatment Dissemination Center (EBTDC), a New York State initiative to train mental health practitioners across the state in evidence-based treatments (EBTs) for youth.  She previously worked with Dr. Serene Olin on the evaluation of a curriculum-based training program for family peer advocates, parents who provide peer-to-peer support for other parents/caregivers of children with mental health needs, in community-based and school settings.  Nikki also worked with the research team on the National Collaborative for Innovation in Quality Measurement (NCINQ) consortium for Implementing and Improving (NCINQ II) behavioral health care for youth and families.  This continuation of one of the original seven AHRQ-CMS CHIPRA Centers of Excellence in the AHRQ Pediatric Quality Measures Program (PQMP) focuses on antipsychotic medication management and depression care.

Robert Garvey, MS, MAT, Robert is a Senior Research Coordinator at the IDEAS Center. He holds a Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods (Psychology) from Fordham University where his thesis investigated contributions of parental tolerance of their child’s distress, parental reflective functioning, and empathy to parent responses to child temper outbursts. Robert has research experience in Psychology, Public Health, and Biochemistry as well as experience in direct services to families in Education and School-Based Mental Health.

He previously worked as a program assistant for CCMH, a virtual counseling clinic offering free counseling to youth and adolescents living in The Bronx. Prior to this, Robert was a biology teacher and 9th-grade team leader at Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School in NYC. During this time, he earned his Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education and worked part-time in laboratory of Paul E. Harris, PhD  in the Department of Medicine at Columbia University on a project exploring the role of serotonin in glucose homeostasis.

Chelsea Flores, BA, EBTDC Training Assistant for Training Resources and Support. Chelsea is a Research Associate at the IDEAS Center and works on a variety of research projects at the IDEAS Center. She graduated with a B.A. in Spanish and Psychology with a minor in Child Mental Health Studies from New York University. She previously worked as a care coordinator for a Chronic Health Care Coordination program in Suffolk County. 

Chelsea has extensive experience with translating research materials and measures into Spanish and is passionate about working to address barriers to child and adolescent mental health care in underserved communities.
