As different settings are re-opening across NYS, many children (and adults!) are dealing with anxiety, depression, and grief associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Join Dr. Alissa Gleacher and Dr. Aleta Angelosante for a discussion about pandemic-specific anxiety and how to conduct effective treatment via telemedicine (and in person) while maintaining your evidence-based practice. We will also focus on helping children manage the sadness that comes from a loss of normal activities and predictability, as well as how to do evidence-based practice elements under these conditions. Finally, we will discuss grief in the context of the pandemic, including how to talk with children (especially younger children) about death. Time for case discussion and Q&A will be included. CEUs available for social workers, LMHCs, and LMFTs.
