About The Evidence Based Treatment Dissemination Center (EBTDC)
The Evidence Based Treatment Dissemination Center (EBTDC) provides clinical training and consultation to mental health professionals. It aims to enhance the quality of life for children and families by increasing access to treatments shown to be effective. Both the Surgeon General's report and the Institute of Medicine's Quality Chasm report identified a 15 to 20 year gap between the time a treatment is proven effective and its accessibility to children and families. The mission of the EBTDC is to shorten that gap.
Center researchers are linked to the EBTDC very closely; Kimberly Hoagwood, Co-Director of the IDEAS Center, serves on the faculty of the EBTDC, and Center researchers also staff the EBTDC. Thus, as Center researchers develop tools and techniques for more effectively rolling-out EBP's in the State of New York, these will be shared with the EBTDC. Conversely, Center researchers can learn much from current EBTDC roll-outs of EBP's (e.g. EBTDC's roll-out of Trauma-Informed Care for Inpatient and Residential Treatment Facilities) in order to create better tools and techniques. About The Clinic Technical Assistance Center (CTAC)
The Clinic Technical Assistance Center provides training and support on quality improvement strategies to all New York State (NYS) child and adult-serving mental health clinics, with the overall goal of improving mental health outcomes for children and their families as well as adults with mental health challenges.
The technical assistance provided to clinics covers six areas, including:
(1) Clinical Skill Areas (Multiple Family Groups, Parenting Skills and Family Support, Individualized EBPs);
(2) Billing Practices and Fiscal Management;
(3) Use of Data for Quality Improvement and Decision Making;
(4) Treatment Supply and Demand;
(5) Client Engagement and Skill Building;
(6) Promotion of Mental Wellness/Early Screening.
New York State child-serving clinics may access any of the current web-based or in-person training sessions. Center researchers are currently working with CTAC staff to conduct researcher on patterns of adoption of these innovations. For more information about CTAC, click here.
