Dr. Bethany Watson, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Assistant Professor with extensive training in a wide range of interventions for children, adolescents, adults, and families including Dialectical Behavior Therapy for adolescents (DBT-A), Parent Management Training for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (PMT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for traumatic stress, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Dr. Watson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2020 and completed her internship and fellowship training at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Watson’s fellowship training allowed her to develop specialties in treating anxiety and mood disorders in youth and providing mental health interventions to children and families experiencing medical illness through the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital Integrated Behavioral Health service. Dr. Watson’s current primary faculty appointment is in the NYU School of Medicine where she practices within the NYU Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s Faculty Group Practice specializing in the treatment of Anxiety and Mood Disorders through the Anita Saltz Institute for Anxiety and Mood Disorders. Additionally, Dr. Watson is passionate about working with underserved, diverse, trauma-impacted caregivers and young children and provides grant-funded services to caregivers of young children impacted by intimate partner violence through the NYC Health + Hospitals Family Justice Centers.
