MAP Dashboards

1.) How do I log on to PracticeWise?

  • Go to PracticeWise.com and enter in your account information. Username: Your first initial, last name OR last name, first initial. For example, Bob Smith’s username would be “bsmith,” or “smithb.”
  • Password: If you have not changed your password, it will be EBTDCMAP2013 (All Caps Lock). If you have changed your password but forgotten what your password is, try to retrieve your password. If you still cannot access your PracticeWise account, please contact PracticeWise Customer Service to reset your password.
2.) Where do I find the dashboards?
The dashboards are located on the “NY EBTDC” page under the MY PROJECTS Header. They are NOT the “Clinical Dashboards” located under MY SERVICES
3.) I can’t open my dashboard.
You must have Microsoft Excel in order to download and open the dashboard.
4.) I can’t edit my dashboard.
Your dashboard may be in “Protected View,” which prevents you from editing the file. When you open the dashboard, it will prompt you to “Enable Editing.” Click yes to be able to edit and save your dashboard.
5.) I don’t know how to save my dashboard.
File -> Save As -> “YourLastName_ClientNickname_Date” and save to your desktop to have it easily accessible.
6.) I don’t know where to input data on the dashboard.
You will enter data on all of the sheets of the excel file except for the “Presentation Results” page. Each page requires specific data. Please contact Lauren Seibel if you require assistance with setting up your dashboard.
7.) Can I cut and paste information?
The only information you will cut and paste onto your dashboard will be the PWEBS search for your client. No other information should be cut and pasted – you must manually enter each point of information.
8.) What if I want to select more than 5 measures?
You may only track up to 5 measures for your client on the “Data Progress” page. You may track more on the “Notes” page but will not be able to add additional tabs on the “Data Progress” page.
9.) How often do I record these measures?
Outcome measures such as the RCADS and CIS should be given once every 2-3 months. Objective measures such as mood ratings or point sheets should be measured weekly or every time you meet with your client.
10.) I don’t know what measures to use for my clients.
Please ask your trainers during your consultation webinars to discuss possible measures for your clients.
11.) I don’t know how to access the measures you suggested we use.
Our Measurement Resource List is accessible on our website and on PracticeWise, on the “NY EBTDC” page. This resource lists all of the measures we’ve mentioned throughout training and how to access them online.
12.) My measures are not graphing correctly.
There are multiple reasons as to why your graph is not presenting correctly.
  • You may have a corrupted Excel file – try to transfer your data onto a new dashboard and see if it plots correctly
  • The equations on the sheet may have been erased – try to transfer your data onto a new dashboard and see if it plots correctly
  • A date may have been entered incorrectly. Example: 05/15/2015, 05/22/2013, 05/29/2015
  • Letters and words may have been entered into the cells, which only registers numbers – take out any words that accompany the results. Ex) 25 hours, 3 points, 7 days; instead:  25, 3, 7.
13.) Why do we do a PWEBS search?
PracticeWise Evidence-Based Services (PWEBS) is used to search for the treatment summary for your case. The search summarizes research results and treatment protocols that are most related to your case.
14.) How do I do a PWEBS search?
You conduct a PWEBS search through PracticeWise. Click PWEBS under MY SERVICES. Select “Youth Treatments” from the left hand menu and input the data for your search.
15.) What do I search in PWEBS?
For your search, please specify these categories: Strength of Evidence, Problem type, Age (or Grade), Gender, and Race or Ethnicity.
16.) Where do I put my PWEBS search?
You will copy and paste the entire PWEBS results page (including the information in the top grey box) onto the "Anxiety PWEBS” tab (or DBD, Depression, or Trauma) of your dashboard.
17.) What is a practitioner guide?
A Practitioner Guide is a set of treatment materials that summarizes the most common elements of evidence-based treatments for youth. These guides have helpful instructions, descriptions, and tips that can be utilized during clinical sessions.
18.) Where do I find practice guides?
Practice Guides are found on PracticeWise, on the “Practitioner Guides” page. You can select “Practice Guides” on the grey tab located in the top right corner of the page
19.) Where do I find process guides?
Process Guides are found on PracticeWise, on the “Practitioner Guides” page. You can select “Process Guides” on the grey tab located in the top right corner of the page.
20.) I’m completely lost and need help with entering data into my dashboard.
Please contact Lauren Seibel with any questions regarding setting up dashboards.
21.) I’m really busy, how do I find time to fill out a dashboard?
We understand this program is a time commitment, and the clinical setting has many demands. That is why our team is dedicated to helping you put together your dashboards and portfolio. If you feel like you need extra assistance with your dashboards or portfolio, please contact our staff to discuss.
